Community-Based Education

Community-Based Education (CBE) is a life-skills class that teaches functional academics as well as community exploration.

Functional academics include:

• basic math

• money skills

• survival words

• time management

• alphabet skills

• personal information

• word skills.

Life skills include:

• community knowledge (everything from restaurants to post offices)

• personal hygiene and care

• basic household skills (laundry, cooking and yard work)

• leisure skills.
