Ogallala Public Schools

Hello!

My name is Gene Russel and I'm honored to serve as superintendent for Ogallala Public Schools. Before coming to Ogallala, I served as principal for Sidney Public Schools for seven years, taught Physical Education & Health in Minatare and Computer Science in Gering before coming to Sidney. 

Our vision at Ogallala Public Schools is to create a culture of confidence for all students and staff that walk through our doors. We want your child to feel confident coming to school & embracing challenges. We truly believe in teaching students how to be a confident learner by having GRIT, being a Risk-Taker, and taking Ownership of their own learning; we call this our GROW method. 

Our staff here at OPSD is the best. When we hire, we look for confident, positive, energetic, and creative teachers to help lead the charge for learning. We believe that the foundation for learning begins with enjoyment! We are proud to serve the students in our community!
