Ogallala Public Schools and the OPSD Foundation are proud to present the 2023/24 Teachers and Staff of the Year! We are proud to present Rachel Max, Tara Sudbeck, and Rosa Zimmerman as the PVE, OMG, and OHS Teachers of the Year (respectively) and Eric Pohlson as the Staff Member of the Year. We are so incredibly proud of our educators for their commitment to our students! OPSF received 49 nominations for 24 individuals. We are honored and proud to say we have so many committed and worthy educators working in our schools! #CultureOfConfidence

Mrs. Sudbeck's 7th-grade science students have been learning about Nebraska's endangered species, animal populations, and our resources. Conservation Officer Hunter Lee presented to the class and also helped with the trash cleanup at Humphrey's Pond. A huge thank you to Officer Lee for your time, talents, and service! #CultureOfConfidence

PVE Kindergarten students completed their study of the Ladybug Life Cycle. Tessa Reese from the UNL, 4H Extension, presented to the kindergarten students 4 times over 4 weeks. She taught the students all about ladybugs, their lifecycle, and why they are helpful to us! At the last presentation, students were able to set their hatched Pink Spotted ladybugs free! This was a fun experience for all the kindergarten students! #CultureOfConfidence

⛳️🏆 Caleb Castillo is headed to State!🏆⛳️ The OHS boys golf team wrapped up the regular season today at the B-4 District Meet in Hastings with a team score of 364. Individually, Caleb Castillo tied for 10th with an 80 and punched his ticket to the state tournament in Scottsbluff next week! Rylan Gilmore shot an 82, Sawyer Smith 99, Connor Bell 103, and Oliver Nielsen 109. The boys showed consistent improvement throughout the season, and had a great season! We are so proud of you!! 👏🏼 Good luck to Caleb in his 4th state tournament appearance next Tuesday and Wednesday at Scottsbluff Country Club!

🍦Ice Cream Challenge Week🍦 The ACT Study Skills class has completed its ice cream challenge week! Congratulations to Oliver Nielsen, Mykah Eastman, Lily Knoke, and Mallory Murphy for answering 78% of the 574 questions throughout the week. We are so proud of you for taking OWNERSHIP of your learning! Way to go!!

Which came first the chicken or the egg?! 🐣 Kindergarten students don't have the answer just yet, but they sure had a blast learning about the chicken life cycle and exploring their own eggs! This hands-on activity had our students excited, engaged, and eager to learn more! #CultureOfConfidence

Ogallala Public Schools Foundation made great strides toward its goals! The Dueling Pianos Gala & Silent Auction Event raised a grand total of $46,344.15. We are so appreciative of all the businesses and individuals that made the event possible. #CultureOfConfidence

During the spring semester, Mr Fruit's OHS leadership class spent Wednesday mornings with the kindergarten students.
