1st grade students had the opportunity to watch caterpillars go through metamorphosis and become butterflies! The students learned all about the butterfly lifecycle and the parts of insects. The students loved watching the transformation. It was so exciting seeing the butterflies soar off into the wind! #CultureOfConfidence

OHS Volleyball Coach, Emma Trammell, hosted her annual 3rd-5th grade volleyball camp. The camp aims to teach the basic fundamentals of volleyball to our aspiring athletes! We love seeing our students learn more about the game! We can't wait to see you on the court in a few short years! #CultureOfConfidence

Mrs. Harmon's 7th-grade students had the opportunity to showcase their learning after completing their novel study of The Hunger Games. The students executed their projects beautifully! We love seeing students do a hands-on project to deepen their understanding! #CultureOfConfidence

BACK-TO-BACK CONFERENCE CHAMPS! The OHS boys golf team shot a season best 330 to win the Southwest Conference Championship for the second year in a row and defend home turf at Crandall Creek! Individually, Caleb Castillo is the conference champion shooting 75, Rylan Gilmore came in 5th with an 80, Oliver Nielsen shot a career best 86 for 13th, Sawyer Smith with a career best 89, Connor Bell with a career best 91, and Isaac Orth 106. A GREAT day for Indian golf!

The Prairie View Ambassadors had their 1st Kids with Character challenge. The Ambassadors recognized and rewarded 7 runner-up students and one top winner who displayed TRUSTWORTHINESS. Our runner-up students are Genevieve Holscher, Raelynn Most, Ivy Wood, River Street, Marrisa Juarez, Sophia Harmon, and Lily Sinner. Our top winner is Kaleena Schmittler. We will also acknowledge the Keith County Courthouse and its employees, as they are a prime example of showing trustworthiness. We are so proud of our Ambassadors for getting this program off the ground! The Ambassadors will continue to highlight other traits next school year. #CultureOfConfidence

The Prairie View Middle School Track team competed hard Monday at the North Platte Invite! 24- Athletes set a new P.R! 1st Place Rose Davis - 100 Meter Dash The team wraps up their regular season on Thursday at the Cozad Invitational. We are proud of you! #CultureOfConfidence

Myah Morken, Mia Romero, and Danni Ellis presented the 4 Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, & Refuse) on Earth Day for Preschool through 5th grade students at Prairie View. These 4th-grade students are completing a Youth-Inspired Philanthropy project through the Keith County Foundation Fund. These students are planning a trash pickup time in the near future to complete their project goals. We love how these students show they care for our county and school! A huge thank you to Barb Jeffres for mentoring this group of young philanthropists! #CultureOfConfidence

At the April OPSD School Board meeting, the board honored 3 model students and one dedicated educator! These students & staff have shown what it means to do things “The OG Way.” They are risk-takers in and out of the classroom, show grit in all they do, and take ownership of their learning. We are so proud of our September students of the month, Madi Fanning (elementary), Marley Eastman (middle grades), Parker Catlin (high school), and teacher of the month, Jill Saults! Tessa Reese with the 4H, UNL Extension will be visiting the PVE Kindergarten classes for the next few weeks. She is teaching kindergarten students about the life cycle of a ladybug. On the first day, each class received their ladybug house and learned how to take care of ladybug larvae. Each class will be growing Pink Ladybugs! Each kindergarten student was then able to construct a 3D ladybug to take home!
