Ogallala Regional Arts Council is hosting "Empire Trio-Hooray for Hollywood" at the OHS Performing Arts Center on Thursday, February 1st, at 7:00 PM. Members will be admitted with their membership cards. Non-members may purchase tickets at the door ($15 for adults and $7 for students). Cookies and coffee will be served after the performance. Congratulations to these outstanding OHS musicians who were accepted to & played for the BOCH Festival at the University of NE at Omaha! In the Wind Ensemble, Michael Tophij; String Orchestra, Avery Lowther; & Symphonic Band, Oliver Nielsen, Reegan DeVries, & Ella Schlake.

At the January OPSD School Board meeting, the board honored 3 model students and one dedicated educator! These students & staff have shown what it means to do things “The OG Way.” They are risk-takers in and out of the classroom, show grit in all they do, and take ownership of their learning. We are so proud of our September students of the month, Allie Russel (elementary), Tinley Flansburg (middle grades), Hailey Webber (high school), and teacher of the month, Cheri Maupin! OHS Boys Basketball Team has earned their 6th straight Southwest Conference Championship! The team took on the Cozad Haymakers and earned a 62-52 victory. We are proud of you! 👏🏼

Kindergarten students in Mrs. Fehr's class are loving the new math program, Eureka Math². Students have been discovering and engaging in a variety of ways to apply what they have learned! OG Boys Wrestling hosted their final dual of the season. The team battled against Broken Bow, but came up short. Way to go, O! OG Girls Wrestling also hosted their parents night. We appreciate the support and dedication of their families. #CultureOfConfidence

OHS Speech Team competed at the Alliance Speech Meet yesterday. We are so proud of their 2nd place finish! Individually, many of our OHS competitors placed and did very well! Michael Tophoj: 1st place in Program Oral Interp and 5th place in Poetry Avery Lowther: 5th place in Persuasive Speaking Erica Hesser: 1st place in Serious Prose and 3rd place in Persuasive Speaking Lillian Holthusen and Michael Tophoj: 1st place in Duet Acting Kaden Walker: 4th place in Serious Prose Carson Roland: 6th place in Extemporaneous Speaking Samantha Pacheco, Lauren Henning, Jasmine Biel, Jialsia Rosales, and Carson Roland: 5th place in Oral Interpretation of Drama Tylee Wang, Ashley Pluard, Josh Christensen (not pictured: Tayvin Lutz and Ella Mueller): 4th place in Oral Interpretation of Drama The team will compete next weekend in Grant at the Perkins County Invite. The OMG Girls Wrestlers joined the OHS Girls Wrestlers on Friday for a joint tournament in Hemingford, giving one of the season's best performances. It was a great opportunity for all those who attended! PVE Principal Mrs. McConnell, along with 8 elementary teachers, had the opportunity to attend the Get Your Teach On Conference in fabulous Las Vegas! The conference had impactful keynote speakers and engaging and applicable breakout sessions tailored to each specific grade level. Our educators came back to PVE inspired and ready to try new things in their classrooms!
