Our Prairie View preschoolers have checked out their very first books from the library! Over the past few months, they’ve learned all about the library, how to be responsible with books, and the joy of exploring new stories. These special books will stay in their classroom for lots of reading fun and adventures!

We are thrilled to share that Colton Laflan has been selected to perform in the Nebraska State Bandmasters Association’s annual 8th-Grade All-State Band! This prestigious honor comes after a rigorous audition process; during which Colton earned a spot among the 93 talented musicians chosen from across the state.
Colton showcased his musical talents on Saturday, January 11th, as part of this elite ensemble. This is a remarkable accomplishment, as he became only the 7th Ogallala 8th grade musician to ever receive this honor.
We are so proud of you!

With heavy hearts, we share the news of the passing of Naomi Sudbeck, a beloved member of our school community and daughter of Prairie View teacher, Tara Sudbeck. This loss is deeply felt by all of us, and we extend our sincerest condolences to the Sudbeck family during this incredibly difficult time.
To provide our students and staff with the opportunity to attend the funeral, Prairie View School will be dismissing all students at 12:30 PM this Friday. Busing will run accordingly at 12:30. Kids Oasis will also operate at 12:30.
With deepest sympathy,
Ogallala Public Schools and the School Board

As an early Christmas surprise, laps and hearts were warmed at the Indian Hills Manner and Wel-life Assisted Living when these 5 third grade girls delivered handmade blankets and cookies to the residents. The girls had done surveys with all of the residents earlier this fall to find out their favorite colors and their favorite animals so that they could choose fabric that each individual would love. In all, the girls made 61 lap quilts.
This project was a wonderful example of the spirit of philanthropy; giving of your time, talent, and treasures. The residents loved their new gifts and enjoyed the interaction with the girls.
This was one of the Youth Inspired Philanthropy (YIP) projects sponsored this year by the Keith County Foundation Fund."

This winter, middle-grades students all took on a MAP Growth Challenge! The grade level with the highest percentage of students meeting or exceeding their Fall-to-Winter growth goals earned a spin on the prize wheel for a special grade-level reward.
👏 A huge congratulations to our 7th graders, who had an impressive 66% of students reach or exceed their growth goals! Their reward? A BONUS 1:30 dismissal (and no, it won't be on a Friday!).
We’re incredibly proud of ALL our middle-schoolers for their hard work and growth this season. We can’t wait to see what amazing things they’ll accomplish this spring! 🌟 #CultureOfConfidence

Mrs. Hesser's 2nd-grade students found a creative way to stay warm on a cold, snowy day—by making Stone Soup together! It was a delicious treat after a chilly recess! While preparing the soup, the class explored how communities work together to meet needs and cooperate. Afterward, the class read the story Stone Soup and discussed its theme of sharing and cooperation. What a fun way to connect learning with a warm, hearty treat!
